Just a reminder. Details here: http://www.vividcon.com/
Hello, vidders! Or anyone who’d like to pass this along to vidders they know!
Vividcon is looking for vidders willing to offer their services in this year’s VVC Vid Auction Fundraiser! More details after this cut:
This year, VividCon’s vid submission format will be going through some changes! Vids will no longer be uploaded as m2v/wav file pairs but instead will be mp4s in some shape or form. A new version of LlamaEnc will be available to help encode your vids, but we still need some feedback from you as we decide exactly how to handle these new files.
If you are a vidder who is considering submitting premiering vids to Vividcon, please fill out this poll (or you can send your answers — and any questions you may have — directly to AbsoluteDestiny at the email address provided).
Hi all! The option for buying a Club Vivid bar wristband was accidentally left off the payment page (linked in the reg confirmation email) for those who registered earlier today and yesterday. If you have already paid for your registration et al. but would like a wristband, too, you can go back to that page and buy a wristband by itself. (If you HAVEN’T paid yet and would like a bar wristband, you can just add your wristband when you get to that point!)
Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience!
It’s time for programming submissions for VividCon 2014, so bring us your exciting vidshow and panel ideas! We’re also doing things a bit differently this year. In the past, programming has been submitted by email; this year, submissions are through a form.
—-> Go here for the VividCon programming submission form (and some other things to know)! <—-
Submissions close on Monday, February 24th.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars with this year’s VividCon dates: AUGUST 8-10 at the Spring Hill Suites (by Marriott) Chicago O’Hare hotel. ATTENDING REGISTRATION will open on February 22nd, at noon Eastern Time. (More details here!)
Also, we’re still brainstorming vidshows and panels for VividCon 2014. It’s a great time to bounce ideas off other folks and engage in discussion before the official suggestion (and volunteering) post goes up on Monday (2/17). There are some awesome ideas being shared already. What would you really love to see in this year’s programming? Let us know!
Greetings, vidders and vidfans! As 2013 winds to a close, here’s a look ahead at VividCon 2014 deadlines and programming:
* 2014’s Challenge theme: Gift.
(Death is her gift … the bite is a gift … gifts given or received, natural gifts/talents, unwelcome gifts, and so on. As always, how you interpret the theme is entirely up to you.)
* Brainstorming for 2014 programming will kick off on Monday, February 10th.
That’s only six weeks away; time to start trying to remember all those awesome ideas you came up with back in August! (I know there were awesome ideas, because a bunch of you said to me at the con, “I had a great idea for a panel/vidshow!” I sure hope y’all wrote your ideas down. You did, right? Right?)
* 2014 vid submission deadlines:
Friday, April 25th: Club Vivid
Friday, May 30th: Challenge, Nearly New, themed vidshows
Friday, June 20th: Premieres, Also Premiering, Auction
(More information on the Challenge deadline and VividCon programming follows!)
